How often, walking along our streets, do we come across concrete structures that are a real “eyesore”? Often these are volumes created in the past to meet basic needs, setting aside aesthetics and respect for the harmony of our landscape.
Today, for a Montalcinello looking to the future, aesthetic thinking is not only necessary, it is the key to offering a quality experience to those who live in and visit our village.
🚶♂️ The context: The walk towards Podere Spagna is one of our most significant natural and scenic attractions. Right along this route, the current municipally owned concrete building (now used by the Pro Loco) literally smothers the beautiful stone retaining wall.
💡 Our proposal:
Free up and demolish: Remove the heavy concrete structure so the historic stone wall can “breathe” again.
New tourist offer: Use that space for an e-bike rental service, allowing everyone to fully enjoy our area.
Memory and lightness: Replace the bulk with a “light”, elegant fountain, keeping alive the memory of the historic washhouse without weighing down the view.
We must have the courage to choose aesthetic lightness over the heaviness of concrete. Let’s give our history room to breathe and our future fresh momentum.
Goodbye oppressive concrete, welcome lightness: revealed history, e-bikes and a light fountain. Let’s choose a village that breathes!
