We are Montalcinello

Montalcinello is a small village in the municipality of Chiusdino, in the province of Siena, located on a hill between the Val di Cecina and the Val di Merse. The first traces of settlements date back to the Etruscan era and in the Middle Ages the village was a castle under the diocese of Volterra, then passed under the control of the Municipality of Siena and finally the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.

The village still preserves its medieval structure today, with narrow alleys and ancient walls, dominating the surrounding landscape. Traditionally, the community lived off agriculture and shepherding, activities that have shaped the daily life of the place for centuries.

We are Montalcinello because we preserve memory and landscape, and we welcome those who arrive as part of our history. Here, life flows to the rhythm of the seasons, among fields, woods, and ancient traditions.

We are Montalcinello. And if you are here, in some way, you are too.
