For over a thousand years Montalcinello has endured. It is already mentioned in documents from 918, long before Chiusdino (1134), Radicondoli (1156), and Monticiano (1171). And yet, inexplicably, envious fate has often tried to relegate it to the margins of memory.
But this is the same Montalcinello that the bishop of Volterra chose as the seat of his mint, guarded day and night. A small village, yes, but with a historical weight that cannot be ignored.
For this reason, we say it with the respect due to History: Montalcinello does not beg for space. It takes it back. We reclaim what we are. We reclaim everything.
