How was Borgo Incanto born?
Borgo Incanto was born from the idea of bringing art into villages, enhancing places that have a history and a soul. I work with music, so the most natural and easiest thing I managed to do was to organize concerts and bring music into the streets and squares of the village.
Over these years you’ve also managed to involve major artists. How important has their support been?
It has been essential. Over these years, in addition to the support of the whole village community, I’ve always had great artists by my side who enthusiastically embraced the Borgo Incanto cause. The most beautiful thing is that, after coming to Montalcinello, many of them carry this place in their hearts. It’s an enormous satisfaction, because it means what we try to convey truly reaches people.
In your opinion, what could the future of small villages be?
I believe the future of these small centers is precisely to help people rediscover the history held within the walls, the streets and, above all, its people, through art. Art has always been a tremendously powerful vehicle for emotions: it can create connections, tell places and, above all, make souls fall in love.
And perhaps this is exactly the deepest meaning of Borgo Incanto?
Yes, I really think so. Bringing art into the village means making it come alive, rediscovering its beauty and creating an encounter between the place, the people and the emotions. Because when an artist arrives in a small village and manages to leave something inside those who listen, while also taking away a piece of that place, then something truly special is created.
